Shah Rukh Khan recalls Salim Khan’s support during struggle days

In an old conversation with IANS back in 2018, Shah Rukh spoke extensively about Salim Khan’s generosity and shared how the veteran screenwriter and his family stood by him during his struggling days. Recalling his early years in Mumbai, Shah Rukh revealed, “The first time I came to Mumbai as a struggling actor, I had my meals at Salman’s place where Salim Khan ji supported me a lot.

It is because of them I have become ‘Shah Rukh Khan’.

Over the years, not only Shah Rukh but many members of the film fraternity have spoken about the warmth and generosity of Salim Khan and his family. The Khan household has long been known for its open-door culture, where anyone seeking help, a meal, or guidance from the industry could find it.

In an earlier conversation with Instant Bollywood, Sooraj Pancholi reminisced about how Salim Khan’s home at Galaxy Apartments was always open and welcoming, with no locks on the doors, allowing anyone to walk in and share a meal freely.

He said, “Their Galaxy house was always open. Anyone who wanted to come, could come. No lock, always open. You could just push it anytime and walk right in. Whenever you wanted. You could open their fridge and eat whatever you want.

I didn’t do that, of course. You want their protein shake to drink? You want their vitamins or heat up their leftover biryani? No one’s gonna say no.”
